Ayala Obtains Special Immigrant Green-card to Unaccompanied Minor in Five-Year long Immigration Process

By October 1, 2021No Comments

Ayala obtains a Special Immigrant visa for its client after a five-year-long arduous immigration process. Ayala’s client originally arrived in December 2015, when he was just 17 years of age. After a dependency proceeding where Ayala’s client was adjudicated dependent, Ayala filed a green card petition (I-360) while it continued to fight the deportation proceeding of its client. After the successful termination of the deportation case, Ayala filed to adjust the status of its client to that of a lawful permanent resident. But a long wait in Special Immigrant visas availability (which are capped at a limited number per year) delayed the process further.

On August 31, 2021, Ayala’s client finally received the final approval of his adjustment application, making him finally, at 22, a lawful permanent resident.
