Ayala is proud to announce that we have obtained a $192,500 settlement in a dispute involving a 5-year commercial lease of our client’s land.

The case involved a lease where a local city rented from our client. The lease required our client to do certain upgrades and obtain certain permits. Our client alleged in the case that he performed all of the obligations, but that he was unable to comply with the comments the municipality made to the conceptual design, because the tenant (a different city) failed to cooperate or simply respond.

The city-defendant used the non-completion of the updates to the conceptual design to try to get out of the lease. We sued on behalf of our client. After almost a year of litigation and a marathon mediation session, we were able to settle the case.
