Ana Luiza Potgornik Ferreira was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She earned her law degree from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo – PUC/SP in December 2016 and practiced law in Brazil for nearly ten years, focusing primarily on litigation and complex civil and commercial disputes. In Brazil, she also served as a Counselor to the Superior Council of Legal Affairs of the Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo (“FIESP”), where she engaged in debates and lectures on legal issues impacting Brazilian industry.

Ana Luiza is currently pursuing a joint J.D./LL.M. in U.S. and Transnational Law at the University of Miami School of Law, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. During the Summer of 2025, she served as Assistant to Special Rapporteur Charles C. Jalloh at the International Law Commission of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Outside of the legal field, Ana Luiza enjoys going to the movies and trying new restaurants.
