Ayala is happy to announce that it has obtained the dismissal of an appeal filed in the Third District Court of Appeal against its client.
The case involved a complaint filed by Ayala’s client, where he alleged that the defendant not only stole all the plaintiff’s business contacts, but after he made a copy, deleted it from the plaintiff’s computer while she was the plaintiff’s subcontractor.
Ayala filed claims for civil theft under Florida Statutes 772.11(1), misappropriation of trade secrets, conversion, and tortious interference with a business relationship.
After Ayala obtained an order denying the defendant’s attempt to dismiss the case, the defendant appealed the order to the Third District Court of Appeal.
As stated by attorney Eduardo A. Maura, “We are seeing a rise in these pro se appeals due to the proliferation of artificial intelligence softwares. At the end of the day, AI is still not good enough to understand civil or appellate procedure. We are happy we were able to dismiss this appeal quickly for our client.”
