Ayala Law’s Partner Invited to Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program

By January 9, 2026No Comments

We’re proud to announce that our founding partner, Eduardo A. Maura, has been invited to participate in Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program, a nationally recognized business education initiative designed to help established companies scale responsibly, strengthen operations, and create long-term economic impact.

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program is an intensive business education and support initiative funded by the Goldman Sachs Foundation. Since its launch in 2009, the program has focused on identifying growth-stage business owners and equipping them with advanced tools in financial management, leadership, marketing strategy, and long-term planning. Participants are selected based on demonstrated business maturity, growth potential, and leadership capacity.

An Invitation That Reflects Business Credibility

Participation in the program is not open enrollment. Invitations are extended to business owners who meet rigorous criteria and are viewed as well-positioned for sustainable growth. Eduardo’s invitation reflects not only his leadership at Ayala Law, but also the firm’s evolution into a sophisticated, growth-oriented legal enterprise serving the Florida business community.

For Ayala Law, this recognition highlights a core principle that has guided us since our founding: a law firm serving business owners must itself operate with the discipline, strategy, and accountability of a well-run business.

A Founder Who Understands Business From the Inside

Eduardo’s perspective on business extends far beyond legal theory. Before becoming an attorney, he was an entrepreneur. After immigrating to the United States in 2002 with limited resources, Eduardo worked throughout the restaurant industry as a waiter, cook, driver, and manager. Eventually, he purchased the small breakfast and lunch restaurant where he was working. Like many first-time business owners, he learned hard lessons firsthand, and the 2007 recession, increased competition, and inexperience ultimately led to the loss of that business.

That experience shaped his understanding of risk, capital constraints, operational pressure, and the real-world consequences of business decisions. It is a perspective that continues to inform his legal practice today, particularly when advising owners navigating disputes, transactions, growth, or restructuring.

From Entrepreneur to Trusted Business Litigator

After returning to school and graduating at the top of his class from FIU College of Law, Eduardo built Ayala Law with a clear mission: to provide practical, principled, and effective legal representation to business owners.

Over the years, his work has earned consistent peer recognition. Eduardo has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for three consecutive years and holds Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent® Rating, the highest distinction awarded for legal ability and ethical standards.

These recognitions reflect not only courtroom skill, but a reputation for judgment, integrity, and strategic clarity, qualities that are essential when representing businesses in high-stakes matters.

Looking Forward

As Ayala Law continues to grow, this education strengthens the firm’s ability to think critically about business models, risk allocation, scalability, and decision-making, the same issues our clients face every day.

In short, becoming better business operators makes us better business lawyers.
