Ayala Obtains $1,183,000 Settlement in Multiparty Dispute Over Industrial Land in Central Florida

By June 6, 2025No Comments

Ayala is happy to announce that it has obtained a settlement in a dispute involving $5-million land in Central Florida.

The settlement comes on the heels of Ayala’s successful motion to stop the foreclosure process of the land based on lack of service of process. Service of process is the formal notification to a defendant or respondent in a lawsuit, ensuring they receive proper notice of the case and have a chance to respond, thus guaranteeing due process.

After Ayala was able to halt the foreclosure process, a months-long negotiation and mediation took place, resulting in the successful settlement.

As stated by attorney Eduardo A. Maura, “We are happy with the settlement. This is one of the most difficult dual-litigation transactions I’ve ever been involved in. There were so many creditors, and a buyer that wasn’t thrilled about jumping into this mess. Through good advocacy and good negotiation skills, our team was able to achieve the settlement.”
