After a 6-day jury trial a, California jury returned a verdict in favor of Ayala’s clients.
As stated by attorney Eduardo A. Maura:
It was contentious. It was competitive. We were outmatched in every category. Five experts, eight lawyers, two firms. But we competed hard for our clients and the jury returned a verdict worth close to $300,000 when counting pre-judgment interest.
Though far below what we requested for our clients, it is still a victory against a defendant who until the last minute of trial preached it did nothing wrong and blamed it all on the plaintiffs; despite knowing full well that it sold dead seeds to the plaintiffs, seeds it stored for 4 years.
