We’re pleased to announce the resolution of a six-year-old real estate and commercial dispute.
The case centered on a lawsuit filed by our client, alleging the defendant’s failure to maintain their commercial property properly. After our client voluntarily dismissed the case, the defendant countersued and filed multiple motions seeking legal fees. The case then centered solely on a dispute over legal fees in the trial court and went through two rounds of appeals.
As stated by our attorney Eduardo A. Maura, “The settlement’s terms are confidential. All I can say is that we are happy this case is over in what I believe are very favorable terms; about 1/5th of the original demand. Though no dispute should last six years, we believe this sends a strong message to our opponents regarding our resilience as a firm.”
