Ayala’s Trial Win in Breach of Contract Case Upheld by the Fourth District Court of Appeal

By February 23, 2023No Comments

Ayala is proud to announce that it has defeated an appeal of a trial victory it obtained last year for its client, an attorney, in a breach of contract case.

In the case, the Plaintiff alleged that the attorney did not provide the services required under the representation contract. After a bench trial where Ayala’s client was able to show that it performed far more than the hours paid under the agreement, a Broward Circuit Court judge entered judgment in favor of the Ayala’s client.

Undeterred, the Plaintiff appealed the judgment to the Fourth District Court of a Appeals.

After both parties briefed the issue, the appellate court affirmed, per curiam, the judgment of the trial court.

As stated by attorney Eduardo A. Maura: “We are so happy for our client, a decent practitioner who was unfairly sued, and had to go through this litigation for so many years. We are glad that she can finally turn the page on this unfortunate situation.”
