Ayala Obtains $295,000 Arbitration Award at a Final Arbitration Hearing in Dispute Over Unpaid Commissions for Sale of Medical Equipment

Ayala is proud to announce that it has obtained a $295,000 arbitration award in a dispute between its client and the seller of COVID tests.

In the arbitration, Ayala’s client claimed that it made an introduction to the respondent, through 4-months-worth of efforts, to the second largest pharmacy in the United States. As a result of the introduction, and pursuant to a distribution agreement, Ayala’s client was entitled to commission on the sales to the pharmacy.

Evidence submitted during the case showed that the respondent sold over $10 million of product to the pharmacy introduced by Ayala’s client. The evidence also showed all the efforts our client made to connect the respondent to the ultimate buyer of its products.

As stated by attorney Eduardo A. Maura who tried the case, “We are happy with this arbitration award. Though we requested more to the arbitrator at the hearing, it is still a substantial amount that partially redresses this injustice. Our client made substantial efforts to link the respondent to the high-profile relationships he had and that cost years to develop. Compensation for their efforts was only fair.”
