Ayala is proud to announce that it has obtained a favorable settlement for its client right in the middle of trial.
After jury selection, and before opening arguments, the lawyers for the case gathered in the lawyer room in the Southern District of Florida, and started discussing the possibility of settlement.
Given the prospect of a potential settlement, the parties asked the judge to delay bringing the jury back to the court until they could decide on a potential settlement. Around 20 minutes later, the parties came back with a deal which they reported to the judge, who immediately dismissed the jury panel.ย The case involved a two-year dispute between two 50/50 partners of a logistics business. Under the deal, the managing partner will buy out the other partner.
As stated by attorney Eduardo A. Maura, โWe are extremely happy with this result. While we canโt disclose the specifics, it is fair to say that the terms were very favorable to our client. We are happy that he will get to move on and turn the page, and continue to grow the business.โ
